Dien Bien Phu was the battle that stop that outset Indochina war. For 55days 10,000 french Union Soldiers tried to hold an host camp, in the middle of a v altogetherey against nearly 50,000 Viet Minh forces. The defeat of this cut garrison was one of the worst disasters in French multitude history and brought to an end French control in Indochina.
howdy my name is Georgina Picton and I am live with you from BBC Radio as I crap just explained the battle of Dien Bien Phu has finally ended and Im here to update you on all that has happened since this tragic battle.
Tonight I am going to be interviewing 2 surviving soldiers from Dien Bien Phu, Alphonse Belanger a soldier from the French army and Duong Huu Lanh a soldier for the Viet Minh, then later I result be replaying two interviews that I recorded earlier at present one with General Henri Navarre and one with General Vo Ngyuen Giap

G I have a few questions for you would you be prepared to answer them for me?
A Of course
G What do you think about being defeated by the Viet Minh?
A To be honest I think that they were extremely unprepared they had no tanks and hardly any means of transportation system fit for mountain welfare. I truly believe that we boilers suit should have won we were prepared with machine guns, heavy artillery, tanks and planes moreover somehow we were defeated. I think the Viet Minh are cowardly.
G why do you think that the Viet Minh are cowardly?
A They hid from us only moving under the cover of the night they didnt want a face to face battle because they knew we would have had the upper hand.
G Do you believe that the battle of Dien Bien Phu was undeniable?
