Essay on Heroism

Can you give an exact definition of a hero? Apparently, no one can. However, we can enumerate the qualities s/he should possess. So, a hero should be: brave, responsible, passionate, emotional, ready to take action, honest and, of course, determined. Lots of people can be regarded as heroes. First and foremost, these are soldiers who fight for their country. No explanation is required. Secondly, these are fire fighters and police officers who rescue and protect us. A hero is also a person with a strong willpower who is desperately trying to reach its aim despite all complications and hurdles.
An essay on heroism should tell a story of one of such people. Of course, it doesn't necessarily have to be a police officer or a fire fighter. It may be a simple person. Yet, s/he has done something so impressive that you consider him or her to be a hero. In the introduction you are supposed to dwell on the issue of heroism in general and then proceed to the actual story. In the last paragraph you'll need to come to a certain conclusion and present your reasoning to the reader.
