Sometimes in life we should necessitate the unexpected. In Story of an Hour, we see that, Kate Chopin beautifully crafts her horizontal surface on one key element -- chaff. Chopin presents her readers with a wife who celebrates her keep ups death , only to die from semiconsciousness when she discovered he is still alive. Two forms of irony were presented in this piece: situational irony and dramatic irony. At the beginning of the composition, Chopin introduces Mrs. Mallard, who suffers from a heart condition. Womens individualisation were of little significance in the era in which the myth is set. She was a wife, a homemaker or whatever her husband requiremented her to be. Her name Louise was not mentioned until the sixteenth paragraph, but she was quite a projected as her husbands property.

Chopin used this as an example to show the lack of importance women in the 1890s -- they had no identity beyond that of their husband, they had no life nor opportunities.
