First, I have to be independent because I did not know how to ask for process in English. I could not put sentences together and I did not ilk to speak. Nobody in my school could translate. One day, I went tooth doctor during school time it only took until 12 to 1, so I ate my eat with my parents before going back to school. In typical American restraint style, the food was huge. I tried and eat all of it but I could not because I was so broad(a). When I arrived at school, my classroom was having lunch and I tried to tell them that I had already eaten lunch, but I could not, so I had to buy a new lunch and eat it. It was chicken nugget. That day, I thought I could not sit down after that, I decided not to wait for someone to teach me. I had to teach myself specially to say, No. Then I could be an independent.
Second to establish independent needed to be bilingual. My first ENL teacher was Mrs. Steavenson. She taught me a lot about pronunciations. She helped me not to be shocked to speak. I decided if I wanted to make a new friend and keep my old friend, I would be bilingual. Now I use English and Japanese to help high school sometimes. I helped translate English documents for border district band to Japanese for Yamaha Corporation. Yamaha is big sponsor of B.O.A (Band Of America) of bands of America. Maybe someday, I will work for Yamaha with America marching band.
