The stopping point penalization is a controversial issue that will probably continue to be debated throughout all time. Many philosophers try to stay extraneous from the issue of the expiry penalty because it seems there is no unvarying right. Other philosophers speak out and voice their opinions and rough have even created theories to victuals their specific beliefs. One of the philosophers who intercommunicate out clearly on the subject of the death penalty was L.P. Pojman. Socrates, Thomas Hobbes, Immanuel Kant, and John Rawls are philosophers that influenced many practices in the regime that affect issues concerning the death penalty. Their individual beliefs governed their actions and their works, which, in turn, affects our society today.
L. P. Pojman was genuinely vocal in expressing his opinion regarding capital punishment or the death penalty. Pojman argues that an ideal world would be one in which the virtuous are rewarded and the vicious punished in proportionality to their relative deserts (Waller, 2008). I have always believed that when a person does wrong they should be punished accordingly. When they do well, that should withal be rewarded accordingly. L. P. Pojman agreed with this methodology.




Socrates, although he never wrote a book, shows his support for the death penalty by actually carrying out the death sentence that was handed down to him by a empanel of his peers. He had a deep respect for the law and believed that their decrees should be followed. When Socrates was charged with impiety and corrupting the youth of the city (The Suicide, 2003), he was given the option of choosing a punishment other than the death penalty for himself as punishment, and though he joked around just about a lesser sentence, chose to be what he considered a chaste man (Martin, 1970, p. 23).
