Efren Peñaflorida was born in Cavite, Philippines. He lived beside the cemetery and dumpsite. Everyday, he would see kids who deficiency to work and make a living. and then he realized he wants to pay it forward and he started to nurture children in the slums.
He and his gang, started to roam around and teach children Math, Science and Language. They use detachable tables and chairs which they carry everywhere theyd go. Aside from bringing the classroom to the children, they teach them proper hygiene, shop newspapers and open their own store.
Normally, we would find teenagers engaged in gangs and other sorts of groups. These groups often influence their members to do bad things and use drugs. Michael, already a senior high school student, was one of those who mixed-up the right way. Then, he met Efren and his life was saved.
He used to be an addict, if not for Efren his life was nothing. Whatever he learns, he shares, says Michael in an interview on CNN Heroes.
Efrens group gained numbers and was quieten pushing through to educate less fortunate children. concord to him, education is what we need to have a successful life.
